African Blackwood now requires CITES permit

As of January 2, 2017, African blackwood (Dalbergia Melanoxylon) was added to the CITES Appendix II list of endangered species.

This will require manufacturers and retailers to obtain export permits to ship anything made from African Blackwood outside their own countries.

These permits of incoming product will cost in the 70 GBP range, but should not affect the cost of any blackwood product we stock as we buy in bulk. It may though for a custom ordered item.

For US and international shipments, the time to acquire a permit to ship a non-stock item will be  2 - 4 weeks.
