Hello again piobaireachd fans,

We finally have a venue! The senior’s center at 198 Government Street in Duncan is a good facility, with lots of tuning rooms, a stage, tons of seating, ample parking behind the building, and a good kitchen. I think I even spied pool tables - but we won’t have time for that! I’m a little disappointed we won’t be playing the Great Music in a church on a Sunday, but that’s how it is.
We will start at 11 a.m. and take a lunch break at some point. This will be a potluck, so please bring something to share. The kitchen has everything except an indoor barbecue, so that option is out!
As we did last year, we will have the following categories of competition: Junior (ground and first variation), Open Amateur, Former Winners and People’s Choice. Other than the Junior category, all others require one tune only. Please let me know if you intend to compete.
It would be wonderful to see a few more junior players especially, so please encourage anyone who may be sitting on the fence. As those of us know who have attended in the past, we strive to create a collegial, supportive environment.
Look forward to seeing you there, and please encourage any closet piobaireachd fans to come and have a listen.
Cecily Grant
